The 32 year old Orphan Elevating Burundi’s Scenic Beauty with his Estate Buildings.
In the heart of Africa, 32-year-old estate developer Fablice Manirakiza is building Burundi’s first-ever gated community. His stunning estate buildings are transforming the country’s image, counteracting its negative history.
Inspired by a 2015 performance as a rapper in Estimo, where he raised the Burundian flag, Manirakiza conceived the idea of returning to make a difference. Born in Burundi, he became a refugee in Tanzania before spending over 19 years in Australia. Understanding the challenges faced by many in the diaspora, he created the “Come and See Burundi” (CSBU) village, which evolved into his gated community.
Initially, potential partners doubted Manirakiza’s ability to establish such a project in a conflict-ridden country. His age and financial status were obstacles, but he persevered. With the support of Ubaka Nation Group of Burundi and bank financing, Fab Homes has expanded to four gated estates. Each townhouse spans 100 square meters across three floors.
Manirakiza claims to earn more in his homeland than he did in Australia. He encourages the diaspora to invest in their home countries and urges Africans to unite for a stronger continent. “Africans are the richest and smartest people in the world. If we overcome our differences and cooperate, we can become a global superpower,” he asserts.
He credits his success to God, hard work, and loyalty to his sponsors.
